Country singer LeAnn Rimes has sold more than 37 million records worldwide. ∙ Rimes began performing at local talent shows at age five, and she appeared on TV’s Star Search at age eight. ∙ She became a star with 1996’s Blue, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, featured four Top 10 Country hits, and sold nearly six million copies. ∙ In 1997, at age 14, she became the youngest Grammy winner in history when she took home awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Performance. ∙ After spending 69 weeks on the Hot 100, Rimes’ performance of the Diane Warren-penned pop ballad “How Do I Live” was named by Billboard as the top hit of the ’90s. ∙ She contributed four songs to the soundtrack for the 2000 film Coyote Ugly, in which she also appeared as herself and provided the singing voice for Piper Perabo’s character. ∙ Rimes was the Season 4 champion of the TV singing competition series The Masked Singer. ∙ She has enjoyed a successful side-career as an author, having written two novels and two children’s books.
