About Lalo Schifrin
With a career spanning the second half of the 20th century and well into the next 21st, Lalo Schifrin is an Oscar- and Emmy-nominated film and television composer who is also an acclaimed jazz pianist and classical composer. Like contemporaries such as Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini, and André Previn, he is best known for his jazz-inflected scores, including the crime film Bullitt, the Dirty Harry franchise, and his iconic "Theme from Mission: Impossible," which was still heavily featured in film sequels in the 2020s, six decades after its television premiere.
