About Katherine Jenkins

A Welsh mezzo-soprano known for her warm voice and charismatic stage presence, Katherine Jenkins achieved wide recognition in 2003 after performing at Westminster Cathedral during Pope John Paul II's silver jubilee. Buoyed by that appearance, her 2004 debut, Premiere, hit number one on the U.K. Classical Charts. She followed that with a string of over a dozen U.K. classical number ones, including 2004's Second Nature and 2005's Living a Dream, which also took home Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year. A 2012 appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars ended with a runner-up finish. After being made on Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2014 for her services to music and her charity work, she returned with 2016's Celebration in time for Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday celebrations. Her classical crossover hits of the next decade included the movie-themed Cinema Paradiso (2020).
