About Caspar Brötzmann
Berlin-born guitarist Caspar Brötzmann carries on the traditions of extreme music of his saxophonist father Peter--whose brutal, uncompromising approach made him an iconic figure in European free jazz-and the unfettered, passionate frenzy of Jimi Hendrix (like him, the younger Brötzmann is a left-handed player). Brötzmann shares Hendrix’s basis in the blues along with the unrestrained fury of his father. Including the bass and drums team of Eduardo D. Lopez and Danny Arnold Lommen, Caspar Brotzmann Massaker performs thunderous, dissonant metal-edged rock with the expressiveness of free jazz.
