SeatBoost 4+

Great app, great experience!

I am a very frequent flyer and always looking for options to upgrade on the long haul flights. Flying with TAP for the first time I discovered the perfect, fair and easy opportunity to upgrade. I was super sceptical at the beginning (the UX/UI does need some polish), it worked like a charm for me!

The super friendly Seat Boost team is also present at the gate and the guys are supporting the bidding process in-person. I was told more airlines are coming and really looking forward to use Seat Boost again elsewhere!

A couple of suggestions for the dev team:
- The auction ends very close to the boarding time. There's no chance to use other benefits like the lounge, fast lane etc.
- It is not very clear if only the first bidder wins, or the whole group in case there is more then 1 place available.
- Integrate other payment options and use the native Stripe UI. Tje CC form looks a bit awkward.

Waste of effort and time and ruined flight experience

So the concept seems like a good idea. But the reality is that it fails miserably because: 1) it does not tell you in advance that there are no upgrade seats available so you are waiting around with your bid even if there are no seats available, 2) you never see any other bids. So you don’t even know if someone has outbid you. 3) after the time runs out it gives you another minute to bid more which we did but again you have no idea if someone else is bidding more.

Overall it ruined our flight as we would have paid more for an upgrade. Moreover the entire TAP flight experience with forcing you to check your cabin baggage because it’s a small plane similarly soured us. So net net. We will not fly TAP ever again. United here we come. Don’t waste your time or effort with this app or with TAP. Typical state airline mentality, absent on what drives a good customer experience. What a shame

Hi, thank you for your feedback and we're sorry that we couldn't help you get upgraded this time. As explained in our app, last minute upgrade availability is never guaranteed. We encourage fliers interested in an upgrade to bid in an auction, because there’s always a chance to win and there’s no cost to participate. As for the auction itself, in the main round bidders can always see other participants and the amount they have bid; unless there is only one bidder in the auction. Now the final round, which lasts only 1 minute, is a blind bid, where you are allowed one opportunity to add the exact amount you wish to your bid, without other bidders knowing how much. Good idea

Although I did not get the upgrade. I was pleased with the simple UI/UX experience. I appreciate how straightforward it was. And although is exciting to check the app and know you are the only one participating, after counting the minutes until the clock hits zero and not getting the upgrade hurts 😅. But I am aware that during the rules of the game they were very explicit about just because you are the number one doesn't mean you would be guarantee an upgrade.
