Description

midimittr is a simple utility to deliver the experience of low-latency MIDI over Bluetooth LE/USB to iOS Music apps that support MIDI. To achieve this, midimittr is routing the virtual ports of supported applications to Bluetooth and/or the USB Ports. If your favourite application is supporting MIDI, it will most likely work with midimittr.

Bluetooth over MIDI is supported in iOS 8+ and a feature of OS X Yosemite 10.10+.
For more information please check out the support page.

----

- Connect to other Bluetooth MIDI Hardware, iOS or macOS devices wirelessly

Still works on iPhone/iPad

For connecting to macOS, this is still quite awesome. With two devices connected -- you have to start midimittr on iOS first on both devices -- only one seems to get MIDI back. But it's fine and more convenient than the Apple solution using audio/midi setup.

Thanks Matthias for keeping this working! No small task for sure.

Full of great ideas, not bad execution

The only reason I gave it one star is in hopes that the developer sees it. It’s really a great app. I have just had a problem where the app keeps giving me pop-ups asking me to turn on Bluetooth to make a network connection, while I’m not using it. It all started happening when I added the widget to the widget list. Since then, it pops up every two or three minutes. Removing the widget and turning off background functions hasn’t resolved it. It could honestly be ipados, since crapple is now becoming known as the company which once made reliable devices - while Steve was alive.
I’m about to uninstall the app as the pop-up is extremely frustrating. Again, I haven’t had any other problems really. Although, I honestly haven’t used it a ton (It just isn’t extremely useful in my workflow).

Developer Response ,

Hey, thanks for the report. Obviously this should not happen. I will take a look into this. On a few occasions similar to this one, restarting iPadOS helps as well. Either way, I will take a look and see if I can provide a fix.

Yes! This is the one!

It was a bit of a hassle to get USB set up on Windows (requires additional installation of loopMIDI and a specific version of iTunes), but once it is set up, it runs flawlessly with very little latency. I am able to route my Novation Circuit as a MIDI controller through Reaper and use it to control almost anything on my iPad! Major kudos to the developer for releasing this as free software.
