About Vivian Stanshall

A founding member of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Vivian Stanshall’s first offering following the Bonzo’s collapse was a single credited to the Sean Head Showband, which included guitarist Eric Clapton. Stanshall’s debut solo album was released in 1974 and featured Steve Winwood, inaugurating a working relationship which continued into the '80s. While deputizing for the Radio 1 disc jockey John Peel, Stanshall developed his infamous monologue, "Rawlinson End." This formed the basis for the album and movie SIR HENRY AT RAWLINSON'S END. Until his tragic death in 1995, caused by a fire at his home, Stanshall was one of England’s most cherished eccentrics.
