About Lindy Layton

b. Belinda Kimberley Layton, 7 December 1970, Chiswick, London, England. Renowned for her vocal contribution to Beats International’s ‘Dub Be Good To Me’, Layton’s mother was a professional dancer, responsible for choreographing West End productions of The King And I and The Sound Of Music. Layton’s solo album was a disappointment, with a limp cover of Janet Kay’s ‘Silly Games’ notwithstanding. An MOR club sound was engaged which did little to bolster the flimsy song structures, even though Norman Cook from her old band and Jolly Harris Jolly were still on hand as part of the backroom set-up. She later recorded with Steve P in the big beat outfit, Hardknox.
