Jungle Blues

Jungle Blues

Folk revivalist C.W. Stoneking has the soul of an early 20th-century minstrel, and Jungle Blues is his old stereoscope capturing the bygone days when carnivals and vaudeville shows wandered the American South. It’s a feast for the senses, treating listeners to rambunctious brass, hillbilly yodels and exotic tales from Africa. Though the Australian singer and guitarist penned every tune, you could easily imagine Al Jolson himself recording “Jailhouse Blues” and “The Love Me or Die”.
