About The Volumes
Fronted by Ed Union, the Volumes cut their only hit in 1962, "I Love You," for the tiny Chex label. The Latin-beat R&B tune was written by bass singer Ernest Newsom and manager Willie Ewing. Follow-ups on Chex and American Arts failed to click despite their soulful grooves. ~ Bill Dahl
