— introduction —

For those who don’t have the time to play RPGs anymore,
this is a new type of game—an Alarm Playing Game!

To play dreeps, just set the alarm. That’s all. Easy, right?
When you head to bed, the robot boy will sleep just like you, regaining HP and recharging for his next day of adventure!

When the alarm rings in the morning, both of you will wake up and start your day. When you go to work or school, the robot boy will head out on an adventure through fields, valleys, and peninsulas where monsters roam. Or, he might discover dungeons where strange bosses lurk...
Either way, every day is a new day for you and the robot boy!

But how does adventuring work? That's real easy!
After the alarm sounds, the robot boy's adventure will automatically continue as long as he has enough HP, even while the app is closed. You might miss some events, but don’t worry about it.
There’s almost no text in this game.

So whenever you feel like it, load dreeps up and check on the robot boy's adventure. Or, leave it running on your desk while you work, study, or snack. Play however you want, and take it at your own pace.

Visuals and sound can give you hints to what sort of story is unfolding in this little world. But use your imagination! Take those hints and try to guess just what's happening. Oh! And don't forget that you can share screenshots of and thoughts about the game by pressing the "Share" button.

dreeps was created to give the player the ability to enjoy a story little by little, day by day. With beautifully crafted art and animations, this is a new kind of game that's easy to pick up and simple for anyone to learn.

This pocket-size adventure has been made for you by three people in Tokyo who put all their hearts into delivering a fresh and charming experience.

Thank you for playing dreeps!

Visually Stunning.

Amazing game, I just finished it. So much time and effort was put into this... I recommend anyone reading this to buy it right now. There is no dialogue put into this game, making the player able to create his own story, with him being the hero. Total of 6 alarms, unlocking all allows for you to venture off into the final area. All pixel art. Gives off a retro nostalgic feeling. You do absolutely nothing in the game, you nap for the hero to gain health. Alarms act as allies in the game, some are hidden. (Taking a nap in the afternoon) while most you have to defeat a boss in order to unlock the alarm. I never expected for them to create an ending to this game, but I was stunned in awe at how visually beautiful it all went down. I'm trying to analyze what just happened, so my text is all slur. I'm sorry for that. I'm also pretty sad that it ended. The boy is not on my screen anymore... Setting the alarm again after the ending returns him back however. It's 12:30am and I was not expecting that ending. I'm tired. Writing this recommendation because this game is visually stunning... I'm still trying to analyze the story as I write this recommendation very sluggishly. I'll end this with maybe one of the only texts this game has to offer. "Sleep well, Hero."

I have loved dreeps since I first saw a review of the game. It's true that you don't play, but you don't have to; the story evolves by itself and it's a joy to watch. I named my robot Roy and put him at my desk at work every day.

I will agree with some of the other reviews that I wish the robot would gain more gear and maybe be a bit more customizable, and I also hope the story grows as well as time goes on. Roy has already beaten the game once, and we're working towards beating it a second time. Love, love, love dreeps! I hope to see more games like this available soon! #roytherobotforever

Interesting

It's a tamagotchi with an alarm. The alarm isn't great. The part where your companion is beating the montesla's is great. I've got one last boss to fight/companion to get but I'm old and get tired and can't stay up till midnight. Still as boring as before but it's pretty and "catching them all" has kinda gotten me into it more. Worth the $3.

--previous review--
It's an interesting concept. I don't have much time to play games anymore so I was hoping this would scratch the itch. I haven't gotten to a boss yet but I have seen battles. I'll be curious to see what else is added as the game continues. The one thing that is a little disheartening is there isn't a whole lot of any type of interaction. It's a game that plays itself. I'd rather have a few prompts if I'm actively looking at the screen or add a 5 second delay if the screen is active for someone to interact.
