New review

I couldn’t alter my previous review but I want to state that I love this app. You can open it quickly to get your idea down and I like the quality of the brushstroke. The only reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s taken so long to get a reply to my question. A stupid question, yes, but some of us just can’t slow down to figure technology out😆

Writing a new review…

Skip down to the bottom for the quick version.

Eight years ago I wrote my first review for this app. The app was getting too many bad reviews in my opinion. It was a beautiful idea in it’s simplicity. Give people the ability to sketch on their phones. I was using it on a second or third generation iPod touch. I don’t remember now which it was. But I do remember that this app offered enough to really be creative. The limitations required that the artist experiment and find a way to do what they were thinking. As a musician I always like putting myself into situations where I’m extremely limited and see what I can come up with. This was simply a different art form that was doing the same thing and really forced me to expand my thinking because I couldn’t expand my tools.
Well, other reviewer‘s did not like this at all. They kept screaming that it needed to have this or that and it didn’t even have this other thing that they wanted. It was like they wanted a complete Photoshop or Paint program in their phone eight years ago. So my review was pretty angry against other reviewer‘s rather than promoting how good this app was.

Here’s all you really need to know…

It’s an excellent intuitive app. It has grown with iOS but still creates a mild challenge. It gives you a certain set of tools and challenges you to explore your creativity. It’s an awesome sketch app. Be imaginative!

Amazing for sketching

Continues to be the best app for sketching and now it is so much more, if you want it to be. The marks are very similar to using charcoal without the mess.
I have used this app for years and have tried many many others including the ones promoted by Apple. None get close to matching this one for sketching. With a limited set of tools you get excellent results and do not get bogged down in all the unnecessary options in more complicated apps.
I hope the dev keeps this app working for many more years It is simply exquisite.
