Bibi Blocksberg is the leading character in a popular German radio series for children, which was later adapted into an animated television series. Bibi is a high-spirited 13-year-old girl who also happens to be a witch, inheriting her powers from her mother. She enjoys using her magical abilities to pull pranks on grownups, though her tricks sometimes backfire and she has to use her powers to put things right. Originally titled Eene Meene Hexerei, the radio series was renamed Bibi Blocksberg beginning with the eighth episode. Voiced by actress Susanna Bonasewicz, Bibi Blocksberg debuted in 1980 and was still airing in 2010, with over 100 radio shows and 26 television episodes broadcast. ~ Mark Deming
