Description

QuickScale is designed to let you resize a large amount of pictures to a desired size and format. Now, why would you want to do that? For example, if you wish to share your holiday photos with family and friends, you can either send them by e-mail or put them somewhere on a website. The problem is that these pictures are usually far too large, have immense resolutions, and take far too long to send.

Meet Quickscale: select the images, choose a desired resolution, and Quickscale resizes them down for you. QuickScale can read from, and write to almost every format supported by your Mac OS (including jpg, png, gif, and more).

Took an interface that made perfect sense and changed it for the sake of change

I have no idea why developers constantly do this. Much clumsier to use now than it was before, and less reliable — sometimes the “Overwrite Images” option doesn’t overwrite anything, and it asks for access to the same folder multiple times while processing images for that folder.

Outstanding Product and Support!

I haven't posted many reviews of products I have purchased, but I wanted to make sure that I posted one for QuickScale. It truly is a great product. It's stable, VERY fast and the support of the developer is outstanding. I process a lot of images and use Photoshop all the time to do actions for me, but I really needed a utility to help do batch editing and renaming. I couldn't ask for anything better. It processes thousands of images in the blink of an eye. The real bonus is that the developer actually cares to listen to their customer. I wrote them to ask about adding in features for future versions and I couldn't believe it when I read my email a day later that they were working on it to get into the next release. That means a lot to me and will definitely make me a supported of CodingMammoth for a long time.

The best image batch-processing app!

I have a lot of photos on my mac, and i'm adding more all the time. They take up a huge amount of space on my drive, and most of them are much larger than I really need them to be, thanks to the camera "megapixel" race. My plan is to keep a few of the best shots at full resolution, for better print quality. The rest I will scale down to smaller pixel dimensions, and add slightly stronger jpeg compression, to free up 30-60% of the disc space they use.

I have been looking for a good simple image batch-processing app for a long time, tested many of them, and finally found QuickScale -- it is DEFINITELY THE BEST!

It looks and works like modern Mac software, so it's a pleasure to use - unlike other apps that look like they're 10 years old (from OS9), 10 days old (still a prototype), or just too "cutesy" to be useful and powerful. QuickScale retains the color of the original photo - unlike some apps that squashed, dimmed, or shifted the color, or even completely corrupted the image. Currently on v3.9.3, QuickScale is fairly "mature" software (not too old, not too new). And the developer is incredibly responsive.. I emailed a question, and got a thoughtful and helpful response within a few hours.

QuickScale is also very reasonably priced, and there's even a Trial, so it's really a no-brainer. I hope this guy writes more softwre!
