Solves and issue for a new NAS user.

After purchasing a NAS to centralize and consolidate my data. I had issues in maintaining my mounted drives. This application solved this issue, but introduced new issues. My goal was to utilize lightroom both on my desktop and laptop. One Catalog to freely move between. The issue was. I had to repoint my catalog to the photo directory everytime I changed machines.

In app purchase of the pro settings and helper application solved this issue by allowing you to mount the drives in correct location. Presto, they are now mounted across all workstations. Perfect solution.

Resolved a macOS problem for me

Running Mojave on my iMac, I use several SMB3 shares on my Synology NAS that need to stay mounted for periodic access, one is for Time Machine, one has my iTunes database, and one is used for backups (running Mojave on my iMac). Before installing Automounter, at least one of the mounts (but generally not all 3) would randomly become unresponsive after some period of sleep; it would still appear in Finder, but the folder would appear to be empty, and if an application tried to access it (Time Machine, iTunes, or Carbon Copy Cloner, depending on the share), the application would go into an unrecoverable hang (Mac would hang during attempted force quit and restart, requiring a hard reset). Disconnecting from the share (in Finder) would similarly hang. Appears to be a macOS problem with SMB shares. With Automounter, my shares stay mounted (or very quickly remount upon waking the Mac) regardless of how long the Mac and/or the drives on the NAS have been asleep. I've had no issues with my NAS shares since installing and configuring Automounter, thank you for this simple but useful App!

Simple, Elegant, and Powerful

I’m just starting out learning about NAS devices and how to utilize them effectively. Aside from Airport Time Capsules, I’ve found it difficult to remain reliably connected to drives that I’ve set up, at least when dealing with Mac OS. This app totally changed that though. I was so amused when I tried ejecting my MyCloud from my computer, and then watching this app reconnect it in no time flat. And it makes connecting to NAS drives used for music streaming really smooth too, as it starts up and connects everything on its own at startup, ready to go for when I open iTunes.

Love this product already. I recommend this to any Mac user that’s looking to become serious with NAS storage utilization. Well worth the money, and the one in app purchase.
