It's got the essentials
At first I was a bit disappointed at the rambling style and lack of technical information......but then I realized this was more like a conversation Scott might be having with a beginning photographer over a couple of beers....then I got it. I've admired Scott's work for several years and this book is simply a frank discussion on what you REALLY need to be thinking about if you want to get started in glamour and fine art nudes. I wish I'd had this book when I got started several years ago...would've saved me a lot of time and headaches. Thanks Scott for having this conversation with myself and other newbie newdie(!) photographers. :-)

A must read for anyone who has a DSLR
After getting my new camera and having it a week I was still confused and fuzzy on how everything worked and how the settings worked together and separate of each other. After I read this book everything became magically clear and made sense to me. The way Scott explained everything in simple terms was amazing. I am now able to take a pic on manual mode and understand how to tweak settings to get the pic the way it needs to be. I still have a lot to learn but this book gave me a strong foundation and now it's up to me to keep shooting and practicing to get the pics just right. This is one book that I will always keep close to my camera as a reference.

Great tutorial, easy to read and follow, I love this guy. Scott is so easy to talk to and this book follows along like a conversation, no effort needed. A great book for someone interested in starting out in photography. I recommend also booking an appointment and letting him work his genius on you. Be it kids, couples or just you, his photographic finesse is one you will become addicted to.
