Worthless App

I tried the app early on, and was disappointed in the limited capabilities. So based on a message from YouPic regarding an upgraded app, I thought I would give it another try. For some reason it is worse than before. It opens to a black screen - seems like a photo app should open to images. The statistics on photos are way low compared to those shown on the actual web site. When I click on an image on the web site I can get more stats and information about the image - on the app all I see are the likes, shares, and comments - no info on the image itself. Overall very disappointing compared to the web page. I will stick with that method of access to my account.

I really wanted to love it

To keep it short, the app is constantly trying to get you to pay large amounts of money for subscriptions that unlock features that most would consider standard, the UI is horribly outdated looking, basic, and doesn’t even work properly half the time, you constantly get notifications about buying this or that thing or entering your photos in this or that photo book or art gallery, and when you post a photo matters 100x more then the actual quality (I’ve posted horrible photos at ideal times and gotten 50-70 likes while my much better photos got 0-5 likes when posted at a bad time), etc. “boudoir” photos (more like generic nudes taken with a phone) get all the likes while clinically taken master works get almost nothing in comparison. No one comments on anyone else’s photos and feedback in non existent. The concept is cool but the execution is mediocre at best and it seems making money took priority over delivering a quality product.

Photo quality on tablet is horrible

I was invited to YouPic and have been slowly checking it out. There seems to be a huge community of amateur photographers, but not a lot of pros, which seemed a bit odd at first. However after spending a week with it I understand a little more. First off I use my tablet for most viewing and on an iPad the image quality is horrible. Secondly I’m always looking for inspiration, and there are some really great images and photographers, but you really have to search hard and long to find them. I don’t have that kind of time. I can’t speak to other comments about engagement because personally I have yet to upload an image, and at this point I’m not sure which way I’ll go.
