DockPhone lets you make calls right from your Mac.
Speak freely via the microphone of your computer.

We developed DockPhone because we wanted to have a real phone app on the Mac.

As known from TechCrunch, LifeHacker, MacRumors, ifun and others!

To start a call, type or speak any number or a name. DockPhone lets you search in your contacts, or dial arbitrary phone numbers. Hit the Dial button and enjoy your phone call.

NOTE: Make sure you meet the requirements listed below. Otherwise DockPhone won't work for you. We have listed several troubleshooting tips on our Help site (see the links on the right). You will also find contact information to receive additional support!

Oh, and check out the beautiful Today widget you'll get with this app!
Re-dial your most recent contacts with just one click!

Decent, but beware

I should have noticed that this app hasn't been updated in years. A simple but annoying problem—entering a new number and hitting return calls the previous number entered, not the newly entered one—remains unfixed after it was called to the developer's attention at least two years ago. You would also want an app like this to be able to handle those alphabetized phone numbers (like 1-800-LAWYERS) but it can't. It would be great if someone else could pick this app up and perfect it.

Great Support. Good product, would buy again, but not perfect.

I had an issue where it stopped working for me and would not make outbound calls using my iPhone. I followed the step by step instructions and even spoke to someone on chat. They fixed my problem quickly. I did get an error when i did the recomendadtion for the Terminal commands but once I rebooted it worked! Love it! This really should have been native functionality.

I also have had an issue where, intermittently, incoming calls will not ring on the laptop and I have to use my cell phone. I would also like an option to dial a contact from my mobile phone but place the call via the laptop speakers and mic. Would be nice if you could push the call back and forth between the laptopn and the mobile for when you might need to pick up the phone and walk to get something.

Great little gadget

If you make/receive calls on your iPhone this is almost a perfect dialing application (it obviously doesn’t have the flexibility to also handle landline, Skype, etc., so some people won’t find this an adequate substitute for Dialectic or PhoneAmego. The only way it could be made better is by imitating those more sophisticated programs by giving it a Service capability to dial highlighted numbers byi right-clicking. P. S. at the moment a lot of people have problems with Bluetooth on Yosemite, and Dialectic and PhoneAmego both require Bluetooth, so even those needing a more sophisticated dialer might find this a useful stopgauntil Apple cleans up its act).
