Description
As long as AutoMute is running, whenever your Mac gets locked, goes to sleep, powers off, or a pair of headphones gets disconnected - the sound is automatically muted.
Works with bluetooth headphones as well!
This is meant to prevent those embarrassing moments when you're arriving at your perfectly silent office or school, opening up your mac, only to find out your beloved "Best of Shakira" playlist is still playing at full volume from last night...
It will also prevent the classic "walk too far away with your bluetooth headset" scenario, where again your mac will take over the sound and allow your co-workers to bask in your embarrassment.

One problem
Long-time user here. Awesome app. Just one problem: Whenever I remove my AirPods from my head, Mac speaker begins to play.
It does mute, however, when I switch AirPods from playing on Mac to playing on my iPhone.
So apparently, removing headphones from my head is not considered disconnection. It would not be a problem if I disable AirPods' Automatic Head Detection — in which case the speaker will not play. But I do not want to disable the Head Detection. I want to be able to remove my AirPods and have my Mac muted. Is that possible?

Hi!
I know this is a bit too late, but I believe I fixed the issue that made the app not mute for you when you removed the AirPods from your ears. The fix is part of version 1.9. Hope the update fixes the issue for you, let me know if not!
Great App - Amazing for those with office anxiety
This App is absolutely perfect! I got so tired of sound blasting out of my computer when I remove my headphones. This App solves that problem.
It also has the added bonus of preventing my computer from making embarrasing noises when I first open it for the day.
I highly recommend this App.

Man it was never a good thing when I would walk out of the office to take a call and my Spice Girls Greatest Hits would start blasting from my computer for everyone to dance to. Gotta keep that under control and AutoMute does just that. I'd pay $10 for this. Can't put a price on dignity.
