He's Just Not That Into You (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

The soundtrack to the 2009 date movie He's Just Not That Into You rolls with some tunes you may have already put in a mix for that special someone. There are the two requisite ‘80s hits — the Human League's "Don't You Want Me" and the ever-sunny "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure — but you also get some boozy '80s Midwestern grit-pop with the Replacements' "Can't Hardly Wait" and the svelte "This Must Be The Place" from Talking Heads' epic 1983 album Speaking In Tongues. The soundtrack also gets a little rootsy with My Morning Jacket's "I'm Amazed" and the twang- rocking "I Must Be High" from Wilco's 1995 debut. Lily Allen's 2 Tone Records-inspired "Smile" and the Ting Ting's jagged pop hit "Fruit Machine" both help keep things sounding British and hip, while Corinne Bailey Rae and the Black Crowes add a couple welcome dashes of soul. If you liked Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Waits covers, you're in for a treat with her ambitious rendition of the late Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye," which closes the album.
