About Apologies, I Have None

Apologies, I Have None were on the cusp of the resurgence of the U.K. pop-punk scene fueled by the likes of You Me at Six and Kids in Glass Houses when they were formed in 2008 by long-term friends Dan Bond (guitar, vocals) and Josh McKenzie (drums, guitar, vocals). Drawing influence from American outfits such as the Gaslight Anthem and Against Me!, their earlier work combined acoustic guitars with electric, and they home-recorded their first demo, Two Sticks and Six Strings, in 2009. A year later they decided to expand their sound with full-time drummer Joe Watson and bassist PJ Shepherd, which saw them switch to an entirely electric guitar-fueled sound. This change, alongside their lo-fi appeal, gave them a rockier sound and brought them to the attention of fans who were looking for something different among the mainstream, Kerrang!-approved U.K. rock scene. They released their first full-length album, London, in 2012 and spent much of that year on tour in the U.K. and Europe, including an appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals. The following year they joined BoySetsFire on their U.K. tour before guitarist Dan Bond decided to leave the outfit, which then continued as a three-piece. ~ Scott Kerr
