On opener “Let It All Go,” she vividly details her inner struggles over breezy coffeehouse guitar; she’s just as revealing on the brassy, upbeat peace offering “Unconditionally.” While Simone has traded her traditional jazz style for something more fluid and earthy here, it’s no less soulful—head to the bluesy, subdued “Expectations” to hear her really find her depth.
