Still on the Hustle

Still on the Hustle

A legendary producer/emcee with more than two decades in the game, Large Professor has been steadily crafting higher-level boom-bap since the late '80s, when he debuted with Main Source. Throughout the '90s, his beats could be heard on classic albums from Nas, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, Organized Konfusion, and Akinyele, while the next decade saw him collaborate with Cormega, AZ, Non Phixion, Torae, and The UN. He finally started releasing his own solo albums (including 1st Class and Professor At Large), showcasing his untouchable tracks and workmanlike rhymes. For Still on the Hustle, he reconnects with fellow O.G. Neek the Exotic, who debuted on Main Source's 1992 favorite "Fakin' the Funk." The result is 11 quality tracks from two elder statesmen who sound off about the state of hip-hop, coming up in Queens, and bumps in the road during lengthy careers. Standouts include "New York," "Head Spin," "Hip Hop," and "Toast Tonite."
