Complicated

Josh Ross is part of a growing contingent of emerging country artists who find inspiration outside of the genre. Like Cody Jinks and Bailey Zimmerman, Ross blends contemporary pop-country with arena-ready rock, with influences spanning as broadly as Steve Earle and Metallica. Ross first found acclaim in his native Canada, notching radio hits and a CCMA win for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. On Complicated, Ross builds on the success of hit single “Trouble,” a soulful ballad about drowning heartbreak at a dive bar. Highlights of the Matt Geroux-produced EP include the opening track “Single Again,” co-written with High Valley’s Brad Rempel, and the melodic and emotional “She Don’t Smoke.” Ross caps the project with “Matching Tattoos,” a warm and nostalgic look back at a long-gone relationship outlasted by some still-remaining ink.
