#63 - Dirt Dialogues #3 | Northeast Trail Racing and FKT 2024 Preview Episode 1
On this weeks episode Xander and I chat about some of the upcoming races and publicly known FKT attempts going down in the summer of 2024. We cover a bunch of cool races being hosted by companies such as White Mountains Endurance, Run the Whites, Race Mozey, and Tru-Strength Athletics. There are a ton of races and efforts happening out there, and we certainly did not fit everything into one episode. We plan to cover more as the summer goes on, as well as covering specific races and FKT attempts as they happen!

#58 - Philip Carcia | Part 1 - New Hampshire 4,000 Footers Winter FKT
Philip Carcia is a distance athlete, hiker, backpacker, and content creator from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. From December 22nd through December 27th, Philip and Andrew Soares set a new speed record on the New Hampshire 48, summiting all of the mountains in 5 days, 18 hours, 58 minutes. As usual, Philip and I went super long, so I'm splitting this episode into two. We talk all about the effort, his year in review, Winter records generally, and more. Tune in a couple weeks from now to hear part 2. Find Philip on social media @findingphilip.

Great podcast
And, oh wait, no reviews to read. Anyway, there’s something I wanted to tell all you listeners in case it wasn’t clear. I, Will Peterson, host of “from the backcountry” podcast, just wanted to say that I think the best United States fkt is the miles knob loop. This is indisputable. The long trail is cool, but the miles knob loop is a true test of all around fitness.
Awesome awesome podcast
Came over from sp*tify to leave a written review. Just want to say that I really love what Will does with this podcast. Came across the podcast around the time of Drummond’s 100 consecutive summit podcast came out, since then have worked my way to present day. Really cool to see some names of athletes and people I recognize and am inspired by, as well as hear about new ones. Started using Infinit and am thankful for how well it appears to be working (custom blend lasted longer than my feet did at Last Skier Standing) . Absolutely love the dialogue / energy you establish with Philip Carcia on the podcasts. You both are at or near the top of my list of people I would love to stumble into on trail and learn from.
My one question for your next AMA/Q&A is , how many hours do you think Jack Kuenzle could go for at LSS and why hasn’t he done it? (So sorry if he has participated and I wasn’t aware lol)
Take care !!!
Swan Song Ski Tour
I would like to use my obligatory review shoutout from Will to put the idea of someone skiing the Swan Song on the northern presis out into the universe. We need a sweet ski FKT in the Whites and that is the perfect route. (Also subscribe to Talk Verty to Me on YouTube 🤪).
