For over 20 years Lorraine Jones-Lawrence has dedicated herself to the education and sensitization of professionals on the challenges faced by grievers, particularly grieving children and teens.



Her first book, 'You Gotta Get Up: Surviving the Loss of Your Child', emerges from a deeply personal place, inspired by the heartrending journey she embarked on following the passing of her cherished son, Andre.



Leveraging her extensive background in bereavement support, Jones-Lawrence offers solace and direction to those grappling with the immense void left by a child's death, aiming to illuminate a path through the darkness of such unparalleled grief.



Her affiliation with the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) underscores her commitment to this cause, further enriching her contributions with both professional insight and personal empathy.

Ric Couchman is a brilliant Guyanese poet, author, and retired educator. He recently released his new novel, "The Little Boy from Water Street." I sat with him to discuss his writing journey and the art of storytelling.

In this part one of this conversation, Ric shares his journey into writing and publishing poetry and how this art form is vehicle for storytelling.

Ric was born in Georgetown, Guyana. His background is in Theology, Literature, and Philosophy, and is the former dean at the Robert Louis Stevenson School in New York City where he worked for twenty-six years before retiring.
