Emma Klues, VP of Communications & Outreach at Great Rivers Greenway, talks with KTRS' Jennifer Blome and Wendy Wiese and shares updates (as of Dec. 2021) on several active segments of the Brickline Greenway, including the Northern Connector between Fairground Park and the Grand MetroLink station, the Central Connector between the CWE and Grand MetroLink stations, and the Market Street segment between Compton Ave. and 20th St. The conversation also discusses the plan to hire an Equity & Economic Development Manager for the project who can build partnerships to help bring the areas along the greenway to life in ways that create opportunities and benefit the neighbors, such as affordable housing, workforce training, job creation and more.

Anna has a lot of experience with complex architecture, design and construction projects and previously served a similar role with the CityArchRiver Project that recently transformed the Arch Grounds, Riverfront and Kiener Plaza.
In this conversation, the group explores several differences and similarities between the CityArchRiver and Brickline Greenway projects, as well as lessons learned then that can be applied now to Brickline. A few examples include breaking the huge project down into smaller more manageable pieces; tapping into our incredible local design & construction resources here in St. Louis; continually engaging partners, stakeholders and neighbors; and learning & evolving together throughout the process.
