Iron Heart Denim is one of the best-loved brands to come out of the Japanese denim market in recent years. Haraki san, the man behind the brand, has a unique approach to designing classically inspired clothing that is beautifully made, timeless and supremely functional. Giles Padmore started working with Haraki nearly 20 years ago, his international business experience combined with his complete lack of retail experience has resulted in a unique approach to the market. In these podcast discussions we will talk to people who help make Iron Heart Denim the special brand and community it is: our crew, partners, customers and others we admire, look up to and draw inspiration from, and probably some people we just plain like. Check out https://www.ironheart.co.uk/ for more information on the brand.

It's the final episode of the season, and what better way to end it than with owner of Iron Heart International, Alex Padmore. We last spoke to Alex in episode 2 of season 1, and since then a lot has changed. We talk about his travels to Germany to see how they make the Iron Heart 'Big Buck', his travels to China, and there is a short, but very sweet interview with Iron Heart Boss, Harakisan.

We look forward to seeing you for Season 4 in 2024!

    Enjoy.

Great crew!

Iron Heart International is a family business who has brought Japan’s heavyweight denim, work, western, and military-inspired clothing and accessories brand Iron Heart to the rest of the world outside Japan. The brand was initiated by and for motorcyclists, but has broad appeal for people who like durable and stylish casual goods, especially if you like heavy textiles (the founder Haraki-San pioneered extremely heavy denim that is so popular today).

The IH Intnl. crew are interesting folks who are very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. If you have an interest in topics such as denim, vintage and classic clothing (particularly 20th century work and western wear), and supply chains and manufacturing techniques around these items, this podcast is made for you.
