    Episode 14: Ryan's Hope

    Episode 14: Ryan's Hope

In this episode, we talk about the best first round pick in the history of the Atlanta Falcons. We also talk about Atlanta's worst first round pick.

Matt Ryan: The #3 overall pick in the 2008 Draft. 4 Pro Bowls, 1-time First Team All-Pro, League MVP in 2016. And yes, his team was up 28-3 in the third quarter of Super Bowl LI.
Bruce Pickens: The #3 overall pick in the 1991 Draft. He made just 12 starts with the Falcons before being traded to Green Bay for a 7th round pick.
Arguments could be made for Deion Sanders (best) and Aundray Bruce (worst). Find out why Dan went with Ryan and Pickens instead. All this more with special guest Mike Miller.

Episode 13: All Saints or Sometimes Draft Picks Run Through My Head

Episode 13: All Saints or Sometimes Draft Picks Run Through My Head

In this episode, we talk about the best first round pick in the history of the New Orleans Saints. We also break a tie for the Saints' worst ever first round pick.

Willie Roaf: The #8 overall pick in the 1993 Draft is one of the greatest offensive tackles in NFL history. 11 Pro Bowls, 4-time First Team All-Pro, Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2012.
Shawn Knight : The #11 overall pick in the 1987 Draft played 10 games with 0 starts for the Saints before being traded to the Denver Broncos. Knight was out of the league after the 1989 season.
Russell Erxleben: The #11 overall pick in the 1979 Draft was a kicker/punter. Yes, a kicker/punter went 11th overall. It's the highest a kicker or punter has been selected since the NFL-AFL merger. (And why not? He was both!) In his career, Erxleben converted just 4 of his 8 field goal attempts.
We talk about this and more with special guest Mike Miller.

    Episode 11: One, Two, Three

    Episode 11: One, Two, Three

On April 29, 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, and San Francisco 49'ers will almost certainly take quarterbacks with the first three picks in the NFL Draft. Since the merger, quarterbacks have been selected "one, two, three" overall just twice.

In 1971: Jim Plunkett to the Patriots, Archie Manning to the Saints, Dan Pastorini to the Oilers.
In 1999: Tim Couch to the Browns, Donovan McNabb to the Eagles, Akili Smith to the Bengals.

In this episode, we look at how those quarterbacks performed in the NFL. Can that tell us anything about the 2021 Draft?

    Episode 10: Safety Dance

It's a Hundred Yard Highlight! In this episode, Dan Swartwout looks at the New York Giants vs. the Los Angeles Rams from September 30th, 1984. The Rams scored three safeties that game... in one quarter! It's one of the most unusual games in National Football League history.

What team has scored the most safeties since the NFL-AFL merger? How long has it been since the Atlanta Falcons scored a safety? What record do the Tennessee Titans, the Seattle Seahawks, and the San Francisco 49'ers share? All this and more... we can dance if you want to.

Wow, entertaining to say the least

Hundred Year History has become one of my favorite podcasts. I can tell that the host was a child of the 80’s with the numerous pop culture references on top of the sports talk. It will bring back memories of your favorite or worst football moments that you had growing up, and in the current day. I feel’s like you are listening to your buddies discuss football, with the added touch of incredible knowledge. You will feel like you know Dan personally, which i think would be amazing.
