What '80s Pop Culture Can Teach Us About Life - Part 3 (Chris Clews)

What '80s Pop Culture Can Teach Us About Life - Part 3 (Chris Clews)

Today's episode is the continuation of my conversation with author and keynote speaker, Chris Clews.  Having spoken to companies such as VISA and DHL, and universities such as University of Florida and UPenn Medicine, Chris is in demand for what he has to say.

Today we delve more into cinema; what gave films from the '80s their edge and how do they compare with the movies of today?  We talk about the rise of Marvel, Hollywood's obsession with hard and soft reboots of '80s classics and much more.

Lost Titan Sub Conversation (Tyler & DJ)

Lost Titan Sub Conversation (Tyler & DJ)

Today's episode is a special one.  This episode will break the normal Sunday release cycle and go live this Thursday (6/29).  I sat down with friends and fellow ex-submariners, Tyler Carrigan and Aaron DesJardins again to talk about the tragedy of the lost Titan sub.  We each served on the same US Navy submarine together and approach this topic with a legitimate knowledge and incite you will not find in most places.
Just a heads up, be prepared for a little adult language here.

Books, Publishing & Travel Part 2 (Elora Maxwell)

Books, Publishing & Travel Part 2 (Elora Maxwell)

This is the second and final part of my talk with Elora Maxwell.  We got deeper into the pros and cons between traditional and self-publishing, along with some unique and sound advice for aspiring authors.  Her debut novel, which comes out July 26th, deals with the sinking of the SS Andrea Doria and events surrounding this fateful night.  It remains among the most terrible of catastrophes in the water and is rarely, if ever taught in schools.

Books, Publishing & Travel Part 1 (Elora Maxwell)

For today's episode, I'm sitting down with Elora Maxwell.  She's a first-time author with plenty to say about books and the publishing industry in general.  Her debut novel, which comes out July 26th, deals with the sinking of the SS Andrea Doria and events surrounding this fateful night.  It remains among the most terrible of catastrophes in the water and is rarely, if ever taught in schools.  Her book and the story behind it are so unique and impressive, I had to have her on.  Her advice to aspiring authors and those seeking inspiration is also outside the norm and worth a listen.

A Developed Talent

Tyrone was a student of mine who engaged with his classmates and developed a real genuine connection with several members of our veteran community on campus. His unique style of connecting with people fostered the ability to invite them on and participate in his podcast. I’ve found each episode to be engaging intriguing and educational. Often when listening to Tyrone I’ve gained a better understanding of who he is and his mission to make the world a better place. For that I’m thankful!
