Sylvia's journey reached its pinnacle when she made history by scoring the first goal for England in an international match after decades of exclusion. This momentous achievement showcased her exceptional talent and symbolized a triumph of resilience over adversity.

As I reflect on Sylvia's remarkable legacy, I am reminded of the countless lives she touched and the countless dreams she inspired. Her courage, determination, and unyielding belief in the power of women's football continue to reverberate through the generations, shaping the landscape of the sport we love.

Throughout this episode, I am honoured to be joined by three former women footballers whose lives intersected with Sylvia's in profound ways. This for me was a fun conversation about a very serious topic, it touches on the current war and therefore I want people to be aware of that before you listen to the podcast.

Lucija Popovska is... and I have said this to her face....  a crazy, energetic, outrageous lady who swears like a trouper and doesnt care what people think. This is a quieter more thoughtful side to her that I hope you like.

Lucija spent several decades in international development, focusing on human rights, specifically the right to housing, housing finance and the way it may (or may not) marry microfinance, and the role of technology in it. 
 She has been lucky to have lived for shorter and not so very short periods in 11 countries on 3 continents. Her major achievement in life is that she managed to enjoy all of them.
 Lucija believes she is a good cook (and is sometimes right), loves her wine (always), sails small boats (whenever she can) and enjoys learning languages (everywhere). Sometimes the four interfere. 
 She helps manage a software company. Despite that, the company is doing very well.

I have enjoyed my conversations with Kalin for many years now and finally I get to introduce him to you, with a conversation that starts by understanding his passion for helping others and providing access to financial inclusion and transitions to give you an understanding of the way he views the world and people based on his travels and how "Ploff" changed his perspective on life.

He has extensive international experience leading strategic projects in Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. His expertise has been crucial for carrying out more than 100 projects around the globe, focused on developing IT strategies and designing solutions that accelerate financial inclusion and enhance efficiency. Kalin is Chairman of the Indian-Bulgarian Business Chamber and co-Chairman of Endeavor Bulgaria.

The title the "Masai Warrior Queen" is one that truly describes the personality and energy of this young lady who has challenged both herself and her culture to do what is right for her and what will make her happy. When Stella and I first met Naserian it didn’t take long to see that her passion for wildlife and the work that she is doing at Emboo River Camp is more than just a job. She is someone who looks at any challenge in life as an opportunity to grow and develop and she can teach us all about what is truly important for finding happiness. 


This podcast is the first of a series that will be recorded “on the road” so please bear with some of the audio challenges as we will work through these over the coming months.

In this episode I get to talk to the man who has had the biggest impact on my life, someone who has helped me in so many ways, especially when I needed it.
And now I get the chance to share him with you!
Mr James Graves B.E.M has been my mentor for over 28 years and has guided, challenged, and cajoled me into being the man I am today. He has also helped many others and continues to help people at the grand “young” age of 78, with his work with MAST. I just don’t know where he gets his energy from.
Hopefully in this podcast you get a little insight into his world and his history and why he does what he does, and why I want to follow in his footsteps.
