Ep 3: Well Actually It's the Whale Actually

Admiral Grace and crew have survived their first jump through inter-dimensional space as a team, although it seems Mackie may have accidentally hit the self destruct button in transit. Thankfully he only activated the landing gear which will be useful when the crew figures out how to get to their rendezvous on Aegea. Hilde discovers a new favorite drink and tries to convince the team to abandon the plot while Mackie and Hopper help Anton reconnect with an old flame.

Ep 4: The Ol' Susquehana Shuffle

Ep 4: The Ol' Susquehana Shuffle

Floating high on the Whale Actually's signature cocktails, the crew of the Admiral Grace stumbles happily to the famous Aegea skydive on a mission to meet up with Anton's ex. While Hilde tries to save the artifact from non-academic hands, Anton continues to question her presence on the ship. Something fishy - well, something suspicious, as they say on Aegea - is revealed when the crew finally stops screwing around and meets up with Anton's former flame.

Ep 5: Don't Be a Total Party Kill, Man

Now that Mackie has his best bow tie all clipped on and everything the crew is ready to call back Anton's ex and attend a swanky underwater affair at La Casa Del Hombre Elegante. Anton repeatedly tries to explain the difference between an invite to party and an invite to A party while Hilde tries to figure out how to fit in. Meanwhile, Mackie is on the hunt for the buffet table as Hopper tries frantically to keep him from accidental harm. The whole event heats up when the crew discovers an impromptu hockey game taking place in the Casa's art gallery complete with terra cotta warrior goalies and priceless objets de'art in peril. Will Mackie's quick thinking distract Hilde long enough to keep her from picking a fight over these priceless artifacts? Find out this week (and maybe next) on Astronomica!

Ep 6: Fine Art Appreciation and Other Contact Sports

Ep 6: Fine Art Appreciation and Other Contact Sports

With Mackie on the run from Hilde, Anton finally gets a moment to himself. Unfortunately, that moment very quickly descends into either a futuristic hockey game or an all out brawl, possibly both! A call from upstairs yanks the crew back on track as they continue to work out just why exactly the mysterious Mr. Cho got them to Aegea. Finally, Starmaster Stan and the cast get a little silly with a special message for the holiday.

This week we want to wish everyone in the US a very happy Thanksgiving (and all of our other listeners a very happy last Wednesday/Thursday  of November)! We hope you all are finding ways to celebrate (yes, even if you're just celebrating that it's Wednesday/Thursday) and enjoy friends and family as much as possible in this strange year.

Fun and funny

These cats have a tremendous amount of chemistry and a real collaborative approach to their storytelling. Great storyline and camaraderie and you can tell they really enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommended!

Funny IC and OOC

I’m pretty new to actual play podcasts and have mostly been listening to Blades in the Dark ones. I’ve never played Stars without Number and hadn’t heard of it before this. Actually, I can’t even recall how I stumbled on Astronomica, but…I’m so glad I found this gem!

The plot and characters are very creative, I enjoy insight into the game mechanics, and the cast themselves are hilarious. It’s NEVER boring here. I love that everybody is so talented and simultaneously casual, intimate, and welcoming. Feels like hanging out with good friends every episode.

Highly recommend the podcast and the discord. Great folks.

Now I’m Team Meatbag Too

I was skeptical as well, having never gotten into an actual play series. But I have to say, Team Meatbag has burrowed its way into my podcast feed and into my heart. Star Father puts a lot of care into the story, the characters are compelling and really quite funny. They poke fun at politics and philosophy while launching farther and farther into a satirical space world that feels strangely familiar. I love that there are so many episodes to listen to. I’d advocate for episodes just under an hour, but I’ll listen to epies in two parts if I have to. Way to go guys! You should be really proud.
