Traveling Words: Luggage, Baggage, and the Recombobulation Station

In the disconcerting event that your travels by air deliver you, but not what you've packed, to your destination, you may find yourself filing a lost luggage claim, or a lost baggage claim—it could be either. Instead of ruminating over the awful circumstances, we turn our attention to the words themselves; we also revisit the recombobulation area we first discussed in episode 86.

Love of language

This was the perfect podcast. An engaging exploration of English words with enough academic rigor to satisfy pedants while remaining utterly non-proscriptive or judgmental. As the hosts often disclaim, lexicography is about usage not correctness. I love the thoughtful escape they provided for 20 minutes per episode - a length that in retrospect makes it ideal for binging. I only wish it never ended.

The Bestest!

Funny, intelligent, insightful. I loved this show and am crushed that it is no longer being produced🙁

I would resisten to shows 2 or 3 times just to fully grasp when these brainiacs have to say.

I guess I’ll just start at episode one all over again😘
