#34: The Frontier of New Smooth featuring Wake the Wild
This week we present one of the freshest new sounds in music today in Wake the Wild. Wake the Wild is an LA based trio of lifelong friends that fuses funky live instrumentation with electronic, nu-disco & funk music. The band is made up of Forrest Mitchell on the drums and triggers, Chase Jackson on the mallet synths, guitar & bass, and Zach Sorgen on the vocals and keys.
These guys grew up listening to classic Prince, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye, as well as modern jazz fusion artists like Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Weather Report, but are also hugely influenced by modern artists like Disclosure, NAO and Oliver Nelson who fuse electronic production with organic live sounds and funky feels.

Top notch
These two gentlemen are not only jazz experts. But they have chemistry. The culmination between two jazz lovers from both the east and west coast really plays well for a great listen. Right after listening to this. I put on some smooth jazz poured myself a cocktail... you can tell these two romantics have put on some smooth beats with some of their dates in the past!!! Keep up the great work guys!
Mind numbing
As an avid Jazz fan and artist I was excited for this podcast. I can unequivocally say that it is awful.
Al B Sure 3 Smooth Song Podcast
Wow guys I really really enjoyed this I just saw it recently on Instagram and I tuned in I didn’t know what to expect if you were going to have Al B Sure as a live guest or what? When I glanced down and saw that the podcast is only gonna be like 12 or 13 minutes I said he likes to talk to you much I guess they’re just gonna play music but I was impressed with the musical choices! So impressed that I screenshot it your podcast information and sent it to him via WhatsApp! Yes Al B and I chat occasionally. And later when he read my message he wanted to know what the podcast was about and he was very happy. He said he would’ve changed the choice of songs. Anyways thank you for your strong work and for playing those jacuzzi songs he so well known for !
