Train to Hunt is BACK - Kevin, Chris, and Kenton Clairmont

Train to Hunt is BACK - Kevin, Chris, and Kenton Clairmont

The goal of a wilderness athlete, put simply, is to run up a mountain, shoot an animal, and carry the animal back down. Well, that’s exactly what Train to Hunt is about. Understandably, over the past few years, there was some struggle involved in making TTH happen.

Today, the great news is that Train to Hunt is back. Kevin and Chris Denham sat down and spoke with Kenton Clairmont, one of the founders of the event, about its return and the principles behind it.

Kenton lives out in the wild, so you may hear some of the ambiance of that lifestyle in the background, but you're probably used to it. We hope you enjoy the conversation and start planning your trip to compete.

"Euro Style" with Kevin and Pedro Ampuero

"Euro Style" with Kevin and Pedro Ampuero

This episode of the podcast features one of our favorite people in the world. Pedro Ampuero is among the most extreme hunters alive today and has both the rap sheet and occupation to prove it as the manager of the European division of KUIU ultralight hunting.

He’s often referred to in our office as the “most interesting man in the world.” So crack open a cold Dos XX, lace up your running shoes, or set the cruise control, because this is gonna be a good one.

"Wake Up Call" - With Kevin and Willi Schmidt

"Wake Up Call" - With Kevin and Willi Schmidt

Willi Schmidt is a longtime friend of WA and has been a great example of the type of hunter-athlete we all strive to be. He’s had a pretty crazy year, and we thought it would be great to have him on to tell us about it.

Willi, in good health and with no pre-existing conditions, experienced a seemingly random stroke while working out - as he would on any normal day.

Thankfully, his journey to full recovery seems to be moving at a good clip. We’d like to thank Willi for sharing this story and the insights he’s gained from it. We hope you find this one as fascinating as we do.

SQUID GAINZ – Kevin Guillen, KOB, Pedram, and Levi

We sat down with the team to talk about our inner office fitness challenge, “Squid Gainz.” It was blood thirsty competitive, ridiculous at times, a little fun, and majorly eye opening. Get to know the people who make this great company possible!

“The Bird Dog Vet” with Kevin and Dr. Seth Bynum

“The Bird Dog Vet” with Kevin and Dr. Seth Bynum

Dr. Seth Bynum is a veterinarian, an avid bird hunter, and a talented photographer –  not necessarily in that order. It’s not every day when conversations with your vet and your hunting buddies can overlap, but that’s what we get when Seth sits down with us to talk about K9 health and how his interesting career came to be.

Episode 9 - Svalinn - Bred to Love. Trained to Protect. Feedback

All of the WA podcasts thus far have provided a wonderful balance of knowledge, comedy, and excitement for listening ears. This particular episode with Kim Greene shook me to my core. I have always desired my own SAR/Personal Protection Dog, and Kim’s stories about Jack in Nairobi and his ability to comfort her in such a tense, non-permissive environment and Courtney’s stories of Otter feeding off of her energy and body language increased my desire to own a companion myself ten-fold. Kim was so well-spoken and very apparently knowledgeable, but more importantly, her enthusiasm and passion for her business gave me motivation to be elite in my own personal endeavors. I can say so many great things about this podcast. Keep going. Don’t stop. When you feel like things aren’t going your way or the podcast isn’t reaching listeners the way you want it to, know that if you continually produce the quality you have for the last 9 episodes, you will always have this listener’s ears! Thank you guys for what you are doing. You really do make a difference in people’s lives not only with this podcast, but also with your line of products. Thank you!

Definitely fills a missing niche in hunting

This podcast is such a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work on this topic. I listen to 8 different hunting podcasts but this is definitely different and much needed. Thank you for finally getting information out there that is easy to listen too. I’ve updated this review. Calling people dumb for doing something that makes them feel better about this stressful situation is poor business practice. I’ll be using MTN OPS from now on.
