IntroVETS is a veterinary podcast by introverts with high-functioning anxiety. The show was conceptualized in 2019 and launched in 2020 by co-hosts Lauren and JJ. Lauren, a veterinarian, and Jennifer, a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Alabama, have over 40 years of combined experience in the veterinary field. The podcast presents veterinary case studies in a fun and relatable way, along with various sidebars, interesting facts, and new research. The hosts talk frankly about anxiety and other mental health concerns, going to therapy, and related topics. There is (hopefully) a strong humor element, as well as some philosophizing and opinion sharing. There is also the occasional moderately naughty word, but we try to not use the big guns. It's not really a formal environment - it's more of a veterinary hang, and we'd love to see you there!

Fabulous. Cupcakes!

I couldn’t recommend this more highly. Very helpful clinically. Super entertaining. Thanks for making this show!

In the most recent episode you sided with the vet tech after assuming a lot of factors that were not stated in the scenario. The tech is allowed to make suggestions and allowed to not do anything they’re uncomfortable with but if it is not company policy that a catheter is required for sedation procedures then they overstepped and should be reprimanded. A catheter is not a quick, easy, cheap option in all situations and while it does add safety, the amount of safety should be weighed for each situation and ultimately it is the vets license on the line and not the tech’s, he or she is the authority if there is not a set policy. I can think of many patients that the added stress of restraint for catheter or the added cost could be prohibitive in a sedation procedure that I as a vet deem low risk.

My absolute favorite podcast!

Ok Lauren, you know how you said that you get super excited when a new episode of Hidden Brain drops? Well that is how I feel about seeing a new episode of Introvets on my phone! I so enjoy working through the cases with you guys and just hearing about other veterinary professionals experiences. I feel like I’m sitting in my living room having a conversation with you each time I listen. Truly, I would love to work with both of you. I was so worried that you had quit the podcast when you took the long break and was ecstatic to see that you had come back! Keep up the great work and congratulations on your new job and puppy JJ!
