A Gift of Artful, Curious, Compassionate Conversation

I discovered this beautiful podcast a couple of weeks ago and have been so grateful for the experience of learning about and connecting with guests who are so held and cared for by Jess, the most present of hosts you will ever find in podcastland of any genre.

The authentic conversations are so raw and inspiring and like balm for the lesbian soul during these days of social isolation. The tone is open, welcoming, at ease, thoughtful, witty, philosophical, creatively assumption-challenging, and fun.

The Lesbian Affair has created a platform for coherent, non-linear thinkng on what it means to be a lesbian from the perspectives of international women of diverse backgrounds across generations: social justice, human rights, identity, culture, books, community, history, gender, food, and some bits of well-deserved podcast-form education on Dusty Springfield.

In its essence, the authentic humanity of these conversations is as powerful as they are full of warmth and tender nurturing. Jess brings her guest’ histories out so sensitively and with such humble appreciation, I feel so fortunate to have found this lesbian heartspace and look forward to many more episodes.
