Growing together through curious conversations

    Word of the year

    Word of the year

In this episode, I get curious about the concept; WORD FOR THE YEAR.

Maybe like me, you have created new years resolutions only to find they didn't last that long!

I have found that having a word for the year is a far positive way to keep on track. One simple word that keeps me intentional, supports my decision making and represents how I want my year to feel.

So if this speaks to you, grab a warm drink, open up your journal and work through the 4 steps that I take to find my word of the year.

    What do you want?

    What do you want?

In this episode I get curious about the question, what do you want?

I explore the complexity of the answer and share how my reaction ties back to some flippant comments from when I was a child.

As an exercise, I ask you to take some time exploring your own answers with my workbook which you can get in my online learning portal (you can access it by clicking on the link below).

Kirk Hardwick - The Ultra Runner

Kirk Hardwick - The Ultra Runner

In this episode, I get curious with ultra-runner, Kirk Hardwick.

Kirk believes that we are all born to run, and argues, you don’t have to be superhuman to be able to run 100 plus miles over 24 hours. All it takes is commitment, determination and drive. He says the word impossible is overused and is done so in a way that limits our capacity to be our best.

Kirk says the allure of running is the ability to find ourselves and to re-discover what we are meant to do. He describes how running many miles can be tough, but it’s in those tough moments that bring us the greatest joy and helps us build resilience we all need.

Kirk is passionate about health and well-being; he believes that well-being is not one dimensional and that we should all build holistic component parts into our lives.

Delayed gratification, seeing his family smile with pride and inspiring others are his greatest motivators.

Kirk shares the following two incredible quotes:

“We don’t stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing”. George Bernard Shaw

We aren’t good at what we do occasionally, were good at what we do consistently (Author unknown)
