We serve Utah and its residents by 1) producing relevant, trustworthy, and applicable research; 2) creating and gathering valuable resources; and 3) convening trainings and events that inform, inspire, and ignite growth and change for all Utahns. New Research: Finance & Entrepreneurship
This past fall, Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) researchers conducted a statewide study to establish a baseline of public perceptions of the awareness, understanding, and attitudes regarding the challenges of Utah women and girls. For this episode, Dr. Susan Madsen (Founding Director of the UWLP), is joined by Sui Lang L. Panoke (Bolder Way Forward Champion) to talk about new research findings specifically related to finance and entrepreneurship.
Overall, the survey focused on five areas: education, community engagement, safety and security, health and well-being, and the workplace. The 80-question survey provided baseline data needed by leaders of A Bolder Way Forward. Listen to this conversation related to where Utahns are at with regard to pressing questions!

A Bolder Way Forward Conversations: Childcare & Pre-K Programs
A Bolder Way Forward is a statewide movement that is bringing together businesses, organizations, and individuals who are either already doing related work around women and girls or are ready to get engaged and lean into the work. If we are serious about ensuring that Utah women, girls, and their families better thrive, we need to create positive change much faster. A Bolder Way Forward leaders are working together to accomplish bold goals in 18 critical areas that require societal change, and one of these is childcare and pre-K programs. Dr. Susan Madsen, Founding Director of the UWLP, is joined by the leaders who are heading up the area—called spokes in the Wheel of Change— of childcare and pre-K programs. First, Jill Koziol is Co-Founder and CEO of Motherly. Second, Keri Newman Allred is the Executive Director of Rural Utah Child Development. Third, Elizabeth Garbe is Vice President of Public Policy for the United Way of Salt Lake.
