The Emperor stands his ground and almost persuades Xiao Gui to abandon his mission. The Emperor shoots his arrow, but thanks to Zhang Xiao Jing, the explosion does not go off as planned.

Karen and Cathy are here with the latest Chinese dramas in April! We have Blossoms in Adversity starring Hu Yi Tian and Zhang Jing Yi. There's Best Choice Ever with Yang Zi and Xu Kai. We have a remake of the original Chinese Paladin game with Paladin Legend. Zhang Bin Bin stars in this new medical drama Live Surgery Room. The Longest Day in Chang'An - Ep 40: Reacquainted
Zhang Xiao Jing finally heads up to the Lantern tower and sees the true identity of Long Bo - his fellow soldier from the 8th squad, Xiao Gui. Swiftly, Zhang Xiao Jing chokes Li Bi to death before discussing with Xiao Gui why he's on today's path. Meanwhile, the Emperor is making the Crown Prince's life difficult again and Cheng Sen is discovering more clues about Xu Bin's involvement in tonight's events.

I have learned so much about Chinese culture since finding this podcast - it has taken my enjoyment of C-dramas to the next level, as I can finally understand a lot of the cultural context I was missing out on before.

for the brief summary style but it also comes across as a bit stiff/too news-casterish (just my opinion/not trying to be a hater— just how it sounds as a listener). If you all have time, I’d appreciate the dramas being listed in the summary too. Just a suggestion. Thanks!
Great info for drama watchers!
Having loved Chinese dramas since I was little (Journey to the West 1986, anyone?), I appreciate how Karen and Cathy pick out the historical references or little cultural references that I would typically just gloss over when watching. I’m learning but also having fun listening to recaps of some of my favorite shows as well! Highly recommend!
