Enhance Employee Retention w/ Operational Succession Planning (OSP) - cATalyzing Short

Enhance Employee Retention w/ Operational Succession Planning (OSP) - cATalyzing Short

"Enhance Employee Retention with Operational Succession Planning (OSP)" - cATalyzing Short with Ryan Stevens

Employee turnover is a pressing challenge for healthcare providers, especially with an aging US population and retiring experienced professionals. To tackle this, operational succession planning (OSP) emerges as a potential solution to identify and develop future leaders. A 2022 national study by Jennifer Hefner et al confirmed a significant link between OSP and reduced employee turnover, making it an effective mechanism for enhancing employee retention in US medical practices.

In this cATalyzing Short I discuss 3🔥OSP implementation strategies for your team:

Identify Key Roles and Skills: Identify critical roles and required skills for smooth operations. Address skill gaps during succession planning.
Develop a Talent Pipeline: Nurture potential successors with growth opportunities, mentorship, and cross-training to prepare them for leadership roles.
Document Processes and Knowledge: Create a knowledge repository with critical processes and best practices to facilitate seamless transitions.

By adopting these strategies, organizations can proactively address employee turnover and retain talented professionals, ensuring long-term success and sustainability.

...and if you're looking for a spark to guide you toward enhancing retention in your organization, let's talk! Ignite your potential, and fuel your fire within!

"Unspoken Struggles of Burnout" - cATalyzing Short

"Unspoken Struggles of Burnout in Healthcare"

    cATalyzing Short -w/ Ryan Stevens

In episode 62, we dive into burnout in healthcare (also applicable across many other fast-paced high-demand professions).

Imagine working super hard to help people, yet feeling super stressed and tired all the time. That's what happens to many healthcare professionals who suffer from burnout.

At times it feels like a heavy backpack full of sadness and exhaustion, making it hard to smile and keep going. We juggle caring for patients, mountains of paperwork or e-notes, and sometimes even an angry patient or family of the patient!

Here's the cool part: even though we're tired, we still see that kid's happy face after surgery or hear a "thank you" from a grateful family, and that reminds us why we chose this tough job - to make people feel better!

So, what can we do? We need to help our healthcare heroes! Imagine a healthcare system which supports the healers and team members, enabling compassionate fulfilled providers to deliver the best care to those in need.

Take a listen and share your thoughts, challenges, and strategies to minimize the unspoken struggles of burnout in the workplace.
