A Life in Movies with Illeana Douglas

A Life in Movies with Illeana Douglas

Everyone loves the movies and for my guest, Illeana Douglas, it truly affected her life. Author of the new best seller, “Connecticut in the Movies,” she appeared with me when she wrote her first book: “I Blame Dennis Hopper: And Other Stories from a Life Lived In and Out of the Movies.”

Discovered by Martin Scorces she played roles in five of his classic films including “Goodfellas” and “Cape Fear.” Our conversation, although very personal to her life, sheds insights that will resonate with us all.

Rockets & Alligators with Homer Hickam

Rockets & Alligators with Homer Hickam

With SpaceX and NASA combining to explore the cosmos like never before, my guest Homer Hickam is the person who inspired it all. The award-winning author of “Rocket Boys,” a memoir of his life, was turned into the hit film “October Sky.” Due to his rocket accomplishments he was invited to meet President Kennedy. During the meeting, he personally introduced the importance of exploring the moon to him.

Now, what many are calling a prequel to his life, Homer delivers an epic tale, called: “Carrying Albert Home,” that takes us on a wild adventure that can best be summed up as a story of kismet.

    Visionary Women with Angella Nazarian

With the controversy surrounding the upcoming Oscars about the hit film “Barbie,” and the creative work of Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, it is time to take a deep dive into what possibly causes such rifts. My conversation with Angella Nazarian, co-founder and President of Visionary Women, attempts to uncover the qualities at the root of our identity. Her book, “Visionary Women” compels both men and women to reconnect with their dreams and visions so that all can lead  meaningful and gratifying lives.
