Trish was so wonderful to chat with.  We talked about her mothering, being a mother to a child who made to the other side of substance abuse and her eldest child who is a trans young woman. Our conversation wasn't solely focused on her trans daughter, which

I had the most awesome and slightly nerve wracking conversation with my son last week...On my Birthday at that.  He wanted to get to know me and find out more about this lady who has mothered him all these years.  He wanted to know about the woman who mothered her.  
It was hard, hopeful, eye-opening and dare I say...Healing.

I am grateful for my son and who he is in the world.  I am grateful that he trusts me enough to ask about who he is through me and who I am at the most vulnerable.  I'm grateful for my mother.  I am grateful that she was brave enough to do what was scary by loving me at all cost and grateful that her journey to show me to envision something bigger than yourself and make it happen.

Jenn Bragg Jones, whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting when our now young adult kids were in middle school.  I’ve always admired her tenacious attitude around really living…She is that person who makes things happen..from her poetry circuit years in her earlier years…to climbing and succeeding at the top of corporate ladders…to starting her own business
