Not Your Everyday Vampire Story
I found myself frustrated with this book. The relationship between Caitlin and James was stilted. I understand these are different times, and things were regarded differently but there were a few elements between the two that just didn't set well with me. Also, the source of their misunderstanding seemed flimsy and too easily, it could have been resolved early on. Perhaps another path should have been taken, but then again, these are different times, and I'm approaching this with a more evolved view and upbringing. I know this may seem like circles I'm writing, but the few small points may become clearer once you read this installment to the series. I was saddened by Broderick's lack of progression but it's understandable since the focus was more about Caitlin and James.
This portion of the series seems to be a bridge toward what may come to pass with the rest of the series. I was curious to know what may happen; however, I felt disengaged with this book. I'm looking forward to the next step, where it leads, and if it may pick up my waning interest.
I had received this book as an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
