All of It

All of It

When Cole Swindell finished recording 2016’s You Should Be Here, he didn’t want to think about making another album for a while. “It was so special,” he tells Apple Music. “As good as we could do at the moment.” Two years later, Swindell bested himself with a set that moves easily between what he calls the “party vibe” of his early breakthrough singles and the familiar longing of You Should Be Here’s title cut. On “Sounded Good Last Night,” the Georgia native describes a “jackhammer”-like hangover and the series of decisions that led to it, and draws up equally relatable heartbreak on “Break Up in the End.” “I’ll Be Your Small Town” cleverly locates Swindell’s sound and sensibility “somewhere between some old-school Strait and McGraw,” albeit with some contemporary shine. “I didn’t abandon the stuff that got me here, but we’ve got songs that are gonna mean a lot to people,” he says. “That's why we named it All of It: Every emotion you can think of is right there, in 12 songs.”
