    Hey Girl, How Are You Doing?

    The world has changed. What are girls thinking about it? On this episode, middle schoolers Lily and Vittoria and high schoolers Journey and Emma share their thoughts and experiences on the significant changes to their lives. They discuss what they're doing to cope, how they're dealing with disappointment for lost opportunities, and how they're handling remote learning. The girls also have words of wisdom and encouragement to share.

    A Girl's Voice in Our Democracy

    CONTENT WARNING: In the second interview, Maddie shares about her experience reporting a sexual assault, and how she advocated to support LB 43, the Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights. Maddie does not share details of her assault, but she does discuss her feelings during the reporting and recovery process.

    In this episode, we’ll learn how to participate in our democracy and advocate in our government! Amy will tell us how exactly our state gets new laws, she’ll give us tips on how to testify for a bill in the legislature, and encourage us to stay involved in the law-making process. Maddie will also give excellent tips for testifying for a bill, talk about how she advocated for a bill she was passionate about, and how that process made her feel strong and powerful. You will feel empowered to advocate in your government after listening to this episode!

    In this episode we'll talk to two creative visionaries that have participated in the popular Girl Scout program called artVenture. Carrie Strope is a glass artist based in Lincoln, and the featured artist for the Lincoln artVenture event in 2020. She talks to us about her love of glass and the collaborations she has done with girls over the years. We'll also talk with Girl Scout Annaliese about her 6 years of artVenture collaborations, her own passion for art, and her dreams for her future.

    Beyond Borders

    In this episode, we will hear from sisters Mara and Madeline about their visit to the Girl Scout World Center Pax Lodge in London. They'll share their favorite experiences from London, and why they enjoyed staying at Pax Lodge. Then we'll hear from Eros about her experience attending the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2014 with Girl Scouts. She talks about how that experience was pivotal for her. It was the first piece of her puzzle, helping her to later figure out what she wanted to do in college and beyond. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides reach beyond our borders, and connect us to a unique global sisterhood.

    In this episode, we will hear from Lincoln Troop 20811 as they explain to us the trip they planned to Savannah, Georgia this summer. They raised the money, planned the meals, participated in Savannah Quest and so much more. We also talk to Sabrina, who traveled to Panama and Costa Rica through a Girl Scout Destination trip. She volunteered at a sea turtle hatchery, tried new water sports, got her scuba certification, and did a night dive in bioluminescence.
