As always, if you dig what we are doing leave us a sweet review on iTunes and tell all of your mates.
    Love you loads!
This week we are joined by Gisele Duprez who is a street photographer based in New York. We discuss what Gisele likes to shoot, why, where and what she doesn’t like to shoot. Outerfocus 04 - Julia Margaret Cameron (Kirk Mastin)

    Welcome to the Outerfocus Podcast!
Ok, so I'm in a hotel room in London with a terrible cold, full of lemsip, painkillers and red wine trying not to die. I apologise for the coughs and sniffles. I was very brave though! Bradley is on his driveway in his car so as not to wake his son who has just had an operation and Kirk, well, Kirk is just fine and in high spirits.
This week we are joined by, Kirk Mastin, who is the founder and CEO of Mastin Labs. Kirk discusses film photography in the digital age, his view on the photography industry today and how he went from wanting to be a National Geographic photographer as a youngster to shooting weddings.
Our history of photography segment looks back at the photographer Julia Margaret Cameron who in the 1860’s started her career at the good age of 48 after she acquired a camera from her daughter. We discuss Julia's approach and individual vision,  what was right and wrong for her, and how that relates to photography today.
Also, Kirk and Bradley look at what’s good in the industry today, touching on making books and prints, and social media users with 0 followers who produce great work.

    Outerfocus 01 - Daguerre & Niépce

The recording of this episode is a bit odd, mostly because I have no idea what I’m doing, yet. If you are listening through headphones, I’m in one ear and Bradley has an echo. Just giving you a heads up and I assure you it will get better for the next episode. It had to go out like this, because I wasn’t going to record it again!
I remember when I used to try and record music, my singing and guitar playing, I’d have everything perfect, hit the record button and it would all go to shit. We’ll that's kinda what happened here. I’ve never interviewed anyone before, never headed up a talk show and man it’s a bit scary. In right at the deep end!
We didn’t expect it to be perfect, we just wanted to get started...............

BEST PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST

Ian and Bradley have introduced me to some of my new favorite photographers.

These guys talk about our photographic predecessors with knowledge, respect and humor, and interview fabulous contemporary photographers with a similar
upbeat and inspiring style. I learn every time I listen.

I recently quit my full-time office job to pursue photography full-time as a family, event and portrait photographer. With every episode I hear, I feel like I made the right decision. It is a happy place for artists of all
kinds to come to. Thank you and enjoy!

Great discussion from great photographers!

Ian, Bradley, and their numerous guests provide great insight into the life, methods, and inspirations of professional photographers without getting pretentious.

The show loosely bases the discussion around a historical photographer, although that becomes less and less the focus as the episodes go on. This has proven to be a great resource for me to start learning more about the history and major players in photography. They also have a different guest every week, and I have learned about many excellent active photographers and been exposed to their work as a result.

They almost always spend a little time asking their guests what photography books have inspired them or caused them to see the world differently. These discussions have lead to several photography book purchases and finding some great inspiration of my own.

10/10, would recommend.

This is the real deal

Been a big fan of these two guys for awhile. Ian and Bradley bring it every time with a willingness to go anywhere and go deep without being stuffy or formal. A podcast for people who genuinely love photography.
