Apollo's Amazing Folding Rover: Stories of the Sturdy LRV
Cosmosphere’s curator Shannon Whetzel shares her newly rekindled enthusiasm for what may be the most under-appreciated piece of Apollo-era technology: the Lunar Roving Vehicle, or LRV. A foldable marvel affectionately known as the “Moon buggy,” the LRV allowed Apollo 15, 16, and 17 astronauts to push the frontier of human exploration by traversing a mountainous area on the Moon the size of Manhattan.

Emily Carney is a historian, writer, and United States Navy veteran. Dave Giles is a singer/songwriter from London, England who has always had a passion for space flight. Carney and Giles co-host "Space and Things" a weekly podcast devoted to the exploration of space, covering the past, present, and future of space flight. John Mulnix launched "The Cosmosphere Podcast" in 2017, a digital journey into history and science where listeners discover the inspiration that can only be found at the Cosmosphere. He is also creator and host of "The Space Shot," a concentrated dose of space awesomeness, including space history, pop culture, science, and more.
