About Vusi Khumalo

The son of a baritone saxophone player, Vusi Khumalo is one of the foremost percussionists in South Africa. Best known for his playing on Paul Simon's album Graceland and world tour, Khumalo has toured with South African diva Miriam Makeba, with whom he performed at the Nelson Mandela tribute at London's Wembley Stadium in 1998 and Royal Albert Hall in 1996. Khumalo's debut solo album, Follow Your Dream, released in December 1998, featured contributions by guest musicians including Cuba's Cucho Valdes and his band, Irakere. ~ Craig Harris
