Under The Church

Formed in 2012 from the ashes of first wave Swedish death metallers Nirvana 2002, Under the Church is a no-frills, straight-up raw death metal unit with an impressive pedigree. Built around the talents of vocalist Mik Annetts, bass player Lars Henriksson, drummer/guitarist Erik Qvick, and guitarists Erik Wallin and Marcus Klack, the band cites influences like Autopsy, Venom, Bathory, Repulsion, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, and Sodom. After issuing a well-received eponymous debut EP in 2014, the band began work on their debut studio long player. The resulting Rabid Armageddon was released via Pulverised Records the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger
